Day 1Arrive in Marrakech airport

Upon landing at Marrakech airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly guide who will present you with refreshing bottled water and beautiful flowers. From there, you’ll be whisked away to your charming riad nestled in the heart of the Medina, or to a luxurious villa just outside the city, whichever you prefer.

Day 2Marrakech Guided Tour

In the morning, join a guided tour to explore Marrakech’s must-see historical sites, including the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square. You’ll also have time to wander through the maze-like alleys of the old Medina, admiring its ancient walls, decorative gates, and vibrant atmosphere.

In the afternoon, you can relax or take an optional horse-drawn carriage tour to visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden (additional cost).

Day 3Marrakech – Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

This trip starts in Marrakech at 8:00 am. You’ll travel by comfortable, air-conditioned minivan towards southern Morocco.

The journey takes you through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2260 meters. Enjoy scenic views of the surrounding areas, including the winding road, the Imouzzar and Taddart valleys with their traditional Berber villages. There will be stops for photos and refreshments along the way.

After crossing the pass, you’ll take a secondary road towards Teouat to visit the ruined and abandoned Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui, which dates back to the 1940s.

The trip then continues to the famous fortified Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stunning location has been a backdrop for many international movies, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones.

From there, you’ll travel to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Gate of the Desert.” Here, you’ll have the option to visit the movie studios.

The journey continues along the “Road of 1000 Kasbahs,” passing through Kelaat Mgouna, a center for rose production. You can stop here to visit a women’s rose cooperative that makes cosmetic products.

The trip concludes for the night in Dades Gorges, a spectacular natural wonder.

Day 4Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

Your day starts with breakfast at your hotel in Marrakesh. You’ll then head out for a scenic drive. First, you’ll stop at Todra Gorges for a short walk to take in the beauty of the valley. After that, you’ll continue your journey towards Merzouga, passing through charming desert towns like Tinjdad, Erfoud, and Rissani.

In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at Merzouga where you’ll prepare for an exciting camel trek. The trek will take you through Erg Chebbi, a region known for its massive sand dunes, some reaching up to 150 meters high! As the sun sets (weather permitting), you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view from the top of the dunes.

After the trek, you’ll be welcomed at a luxurious nomadic camp located right in the heart of the desert. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional Berber dinner followed by some entertainment, including a drum party. To end the perfect day, you can stargaze under the vast desert sky before settling in for the night.

Day 5Merzouga Dunes - Erfoud - Ifrane - Fes

Our day starts with a delicious breakfast, then we head out to Rissani, a town that was once the heart of the Tafilalet region. This bustling town still holds a major souk (market) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays – a great place to soak up the local atmosphere. After exploring the market, we’ll visit a workshop in Erfoud where they create beautiful objects from petrified marble. As we journey along the Ziz River, we’ll stop for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. In Midelt, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch at your own pace. Next, we’ll venture into the cedar forest, where you might even spot some playful Barbary Macaques! Feel free to bring them a snack (approved foods only, of course). Our final stop is the charming town of Ifrane, nicknamed “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its unique alpine architecture and cooler climate. After exploring Ifrane, we’ll take you back to your comfortable accommodation in Fes.

Day 6Fes Sightseeing

Immerse yourself in the wonders of Fes with a full day of exploration. Start with a visit to the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest existing, continually operating higher educational institution in the world. Wander through the bustling medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and discover hidden gems like the Bou Inania Madrasa and the Nejjarine Fountain. After a traditional Moroccan lunch, continue your tour with a visit to the tanneries, where you can witness the ancient art of leather making. End the day with dinner and traditional entertainment at a local venue.

Day 7 Fes - Meknes - Volubilis ruins - Chefchaouen

Our day begins with a delicious breakfast, followed by a trip to Meknes, a former Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We’ll delve into its history with visits to impressive landmarks like the Bab Al-Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani water basin, the royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After exploring Meknes, we’ll have free time for lunch. The adventure continues as we head 30 kilometers outside the city to discover the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we’ll be awestruck by ancient pillars, arches, and stunning mosaics scattered throughout the site. Our journey then takes us north through Ouazzane, leading us to the captivating Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. This enchanting city, also known as the Blue Pearl, is famous for its vibrant blue-washed houses and winding alleys. We’ll cap off the day by checking into a comfortable hotel for the night.

Day 8Chefchaouen Sightseeing

Spend the day discovering the beauty of Chefchaouen, known for its striking blue buildings and relaxed vibe. Start with a guided walking tour through the medina, where you’ll learn about the city’s history and culture. Visit the Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the heart of the medina, and the Kasbah Museum, which offers stunning views of the surrounding area. In the afternoon, hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the city. The evening is yours to explore local markets and enjoy a peaceful dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 9 CHEFCHAOUEN - FEZ

There are many ways to spend your day in this charming town. You could unwind at a cozy cafe, people-watching and soaking up the atmosphere. Perhaps you’d prefer to continue exploring the winding streets, discovering hidden shops brimming with colorful treasures. Capturing the beauty of this unique place with your camera is another option. And for the adventurous types, a hike in the hills on the other side of the river offers stunning views and a break from the urban energy.

No matter how you choose to spend your day, Fes awaits your return in the evening.

Day 10FES - AIRPORT

The relaxing stay at your riad will come to an end as it’s time to catch your flight home. You won’t need to worry about navigating the bustling city or missing your check-in. A convenient transfer will be arranged to take you directly from your riad to the airport, ensuring you arrive in plenty of time for your flight. This concludes your incredible 10-day Moroccan adventure, where you explored the vibrant city of Marrakech, marveled at the Sahara Desert, and journeyed through the historic Imperial cities of Fez and Chefchaouen.
