Tangier – Marrakech
Our 7-day adventure begins with a scenic drive from Tangier to Chefchaouen, the charming ‘blue city.’ We’ll pass through the picturesque Rif Mountains and visit Tetouan, offering breathtaking mountain views. Enjoy your first night in a comfortable riad or hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to Volubilis, passing through charming Rif villages like Ouazan. Explore the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a significant archaeological site that sheds light on Morocco’s history.
From Volubilis, we’ll head to Meknes, a 17th-century city. Enjoy lunch and marvel at the impressive historical walls of the medina, including the Bab el Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail tomb. We’ll then continue our journey to Fes for the night
Today, you’ll embark on a guided tour through Fes’s historic medina, exploring its narrow, cobbled streets lined with ancient mosques, towering minarets, and stunning Andalusian architecture. We’ll ensure you visit culturally and historically significant sites, including the renowned Al Qaraouine University. You’ll also have the opportunity to witness traditional Moroccan crafts at local tanneries and a ceramic cooperative.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel or riad and head south towards Azrou, passing through the charming town of Ifrane, often called the ‘Switzerland of Morocco.’ We’ll then venture into the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at a cedar forest for a unique opportunity to take photos with the playful Barbary apes.
Continuing our journey through the Atlas Mountains, we’ll admire the stunning landscapes of Midelt. After a refreshing lunch, we’ll proceed through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga. We’ll spend the night in a local hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll venture into the local community, visiting a village inhabited by people of Malian descent. There, we’ll immerse ourselves in their vibrant music and unique lifestyle.
Next, we’ll embark on a journey to the Miffis Mines, where we’ll witness the fascinating mining process firsthand. Following this, we’ll venture into the heart of the desert, surrounded by breathtaking dunes. Here, we’ll relax with a warm cup of tea and engage with the local Bedouin people.
Before returning to the hotel, our guides will provide essential camel riding instruction, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. Afterward, we’ll embark on an exploration of the enigmatic Erg Chebbi sand dunes. The night will be spent in a traditional Berber tent.
Start your day with an unforgettable sunrise over the towering sand dunes of Merzouga, casting mesmerizing shadows and colors across the desert landscape. After a leisurely breakfast, continue your journey to Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorge. Hike through this stunning natural wonder, relax by the river, or savor authentic Berber cuisine. Following a delightful lunch, drive through the picturesque Dades Valley and end your day in a comfortable mountaintop hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll journey through the picturesque Dades Valley, known for its numerous kasbahs and stunning photo opportunities. Our route will take us to Kalaa M’gouna, the ‘City of Roses,’ and then to Ouarzazate. In Ouarzazate, we’ll briefly explore the Atlas Film Studios before heading to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by a Berber chieftain in the early 20th century, offers a glimpse into Morocco’s rich history.
Following lunch, we’ll ascend the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying panoramic views and encountering charming Berber villages along the way. Our journey will conclude in Marrakech, marking the end of our 7-day adventure from Tangier to the Imperial Cities via the Sahara Desert
