Commence on a luxurious adventure across eastern Morocco! Our comfortable, air-conditioned minibus will pick you up directly from your Marrakech hotel at 7:15 am and whisk you away on an exciting journey. We’ll traverse the majestic Atlas Mountains before descending to the fascinating Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
This historic site, with its six Kasbahs within fortified walls, will transport you back in time. Imagine bustling markets, roaming nomads, and echoes of gladiatorial battles. After a guided tour, savor a delicious lunch within the Kasbah walls.
Next, we journey to Ouarzazate, a city nicknamed “The Gateway to the Desert” and a popular filming location for Hollywood blockbusters like The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. Take a moment to soak in the scenery that has captivated filmmakers before continuing towards Dades Valley.
Unwind and relax at a charming Dades guesthouse with a private en-suite bathroom. In the evening, indulge in a delightful Moroccan dinner, a perfect end to your first day of adventure.
On day two, fuel up with a delicious breakfast before heading to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge. Its dramatic scenery is so incredible, you’ll wonder why it’s not a world wonder! After lunch, we continue our journey to Merzouga, deep within the desert.
Here, the adventure truly begins! We’ll embark on a camel trek across the vast Erg Chebbi dunes, arriving at our comfortable Berber camp for the night. Relax and soak up the atmosphere before enjoying a delicious dinner. The next morning, we’ll savor breakfast at the camp before setting off on our return trip to Marrakech.
Rise and shine! Today’s reward for early risers is a stunning desert sunrise from a nearby dune. After a delicious breakfast at camp, choose your return to Merzouga: a scenic camel trek or a comfy 4×4 ride.
Our adventure continues nearby at Khamliya village, famous for its mesmerizing Gnawa music. Immerse yourself in the captivating sounds before heading to Rissani, an ancient city steeped in history. Here, you might even catch the bustling traditional souk (if it’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday).
Leaving Rissani, we’ll wind through the picturesque Draa Valley, passing Agdez along the way. The journey ends in Ouarzazate, where we’ll check into our accommodation for the afternoon.
Our exciting adventure kicks off today! After breakfast, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, nicknamed “Hollywood of Africa” for its film studios and proximity to the Sahara. We’ll explore the famous Atlas Studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Next, we journey to the stunning Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected kasbah that’s been a backdrop in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Prepare to be amazed!
After soaking up the beauty of Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll wind our way back to Marrakech through the majestic Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the charming Berber villages and the captivating Kasbah of Telouet. Get your cameras ready for breathtaking vistas!
This unforgettable 4-day adventure ends in Marrakech, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel. The memories of the desert wonders and cultural treasures we’ve experienced together will stay with you forever!
Marrakech to Merzouga is 564 km, first night you will sleep in Dades valley and reach Merzouga on second day. Day 3 you will spend driving back to Marrakech.
A shared triple or quadruple room is included in the tour price. For a private room, please choose an upgrade (costs EUR 10 per person). Private rooms are AC and shared rooms are without AC.
Yes, you can bring your luggage with you, it can stay safe in the minivan.
Please prepare a small backpack with essentials for the camping and your personal belongings. Do not forget sunglasses, a scarf, a hat, comfortable walking shoes and in winter also warm sleeping clothes. For the camel ride we recommend to wear jeans or long trousers.
In winter it gets quite cold at night in the desert (temperatures can drop to around 0). You will be provided with warm blankets, but we would advise to bring warm clothes for sleeping.
